Squirrel Lodge Hydrotherapy

Squirrel Lodge Centre is now the one place where you can find all your dog's rehabilitation needs can be cared for.

We are a specialist canine rehabilitation centre offering a multimodal approach to provide a rehabilitation programme for your dog's individual requirements. We can select from a range of therapies that we have available at the Centre to achieve the best outcome possible for your dog whether its following injury/surgery, managing a long-term condition or disability, or if your dog is their senior years and requires that extra care to improve their quality of life. The therapies we have available are:

Hydrotherapy

Exercise Rehabilitation & Prescription

Photobiomodulation Therapy, to include Laser and LED

Electrotherapy, to include TENS, Ultrasound, PEMF, PSWT.

Osteopathy coming to the Centre soon

    • We provide flexible and effective treatments for the pets you love in a safe and relaxing environment.

    • Your pet will receive one-to-one care from a fully qualified hydrotherapist rehabilitation practitioner and fitness trainer.

    • All dogs wear a life jacket or harness and we have a hoist system for dogs which are unable to manage the ramp in to the hydrotherapy pool.

    • We use motivational techniques to ensure sessions are also fun for your pet while they receive quality treatments

    • Our pool is 4m x 2m and 1m deep so we are able to swim even larger dogs comfortably

    • Our pool is heated to 30 – 31°C to ensure the best therapeutic effect

    • We have owned dogs of our own for over 30 years and worked within the rescue world

    • Paula is fully qualified hydrotherapist with a Diploma in Small Animal Hydrotherapy achieved at the world renowned Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy and Referral Centre; she also has an honours degree in nursing and is a qualified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and Fitness Trainer..

    • Paula is a Member of the the Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP) - Institute of Canine Hydrotherapists (ICH) .

 

Hi, my name is Paula and I have owned dogs all my life and have always had an interest in their welfare.

I qualified in 2012 as a Small Animal Hydrotherapist at the world-renowned Hawksmoor Centre. I continued my training at Hawksmoor to achieve my diploma, and I have continued my training to become a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and Fitness Trainer with the University of Tennessee. I have completed additional training at K9HS, Animal Rehabilitation and Health Academy. I am currently studying for my DSc in Canine Rehabilitation at and I'm also completing my training in Canine Osteopathy at the London College of Animal Osteopathy.
